Job summary

SOCOTEC US is seeking a Senior Staff Environmental Scientist for our Irvine, CA office. The role requires CSST and hazardous materials/industrial hygiene experience, with fieldwork and project support under a Project Manager.

Responsibilities include site visits, permit acquisition, data collection, asbestos/lead surveys, abatement monitoring, and technical report writing. A BS in Engineering/Geology/Environmental Science is required, with at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related scientific field from an accredited institution is required.
• CSST or CAC & Lead Inspector/Assessor/Project Monitor/Sampling Technician certifications are REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Making frequent visits to project sites at the direction of the Project Manager.
• Acquiring permits, and reviewing background data, site photos and aerial photographs.
• Assist the Project Manager in the acquisition, documentation and dissemination of data related to all phases of environmental assessment/projects.
• Preparation of field data, photographic documentation, and quantification of hazardous materials.
• Performing various assigned tasks such as coordinating and scheduling subcontractors, preparing field studies, and report writing under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Conduct special assignments as directed by the supervisor.
