Job summary

Earthjustice seeks a Senior Legislative Representative to develop and implement legislative and administrative strategies on environmental policy. The role interfaces with Congress, the Administration, and key staff, with a Washington, D.C. hybrid schedule.

The position requires strong writing and oral communication, a track record in federal advocacy, and the ability to work across coalitions and with litigators. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in the legislative or federal agency advocacy process.
• Masters degree or equivalent experience; JD holders receive Sr. Legislative Counsel.
• Strong knowledge of admin rulemaking processes.
• Experience with federal legislative processes and committees.
• Proven ability to build relationships with congressional staff and agencies.
• Experience with environmental or energy laws is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement legislative and administrative advocacy strategies.
• Lobby Congress and the Administration; educate on key legal challenges.
• Serve as Earthjustice spokesperson on assigned issues.
• Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers and coalitions.
• Coordinate with PAL staff and partners; organize education and advocacy events.
• Contribute to strategy meetings and cross-cutting issue work.
