Job summary

Broward County Board of County Commissioners seeks an experienced Program/Project Coordinator, Senior (Environmental Policy and Legislative) to support the Public Works & Environmental Services Department. The role centers on coordinating environmental policy, advocacy, and climate initiatives across county, regional partners, and state/federal opportunities.

Key duties include research, stakeholder engagement, and program oversight for energy, resilience, and water programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, environmental planning/science or related field.
• Four years of experience managing projects, with substitution allowed: 1 year of experience per year of education.
• Florida Class E Driver's License required.
• Experience with climate, resilience, energy, or environmental policy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement and evaluate countywide programs with large scope and impact.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners, including agencies and municipalities.
• Research issues, prepare memorandums and reports, and monitor policy compliance.
• Represent the department in meetings, briefings, and stakeholder groups.
• Advise leadership on energy conservation and environmental initiatives.
• Prepare Commission agendas and provide staff training as needed.
