Job summary

Broward County is seeking an Environmental Project Coordinator to support the Environmental Permitting Division. The role includes coordinating large-scale environmental programs, data analysis, IT integration, and compliance with regulatory timelines.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least two years in environmental programs with supervisory experience. A Florida driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, biology, ecology, natural resources management or closely related field.
• Requires two years in environmental/natural resource programs or closely related experience, including one year of lead work/supervisory experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E driver's license for duration of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assist program manager overseeing day-to-day operation of the Aquatic and Wetland Resources (AWR) Program and the State-delegated Environmental Resource Permitting Program.
• Coordinate between Surface Water Management and AWR programs when issuing ERP and SPGP permits.
• Train staff in processing Environmental Resource Licenses and SPGP to ensure compliance with County rules and state/federal regulations.

Education
