Job summary

The Broward County Board of County Commissioners seeks an Environmental Project Coordinator to support the Environmental Permitting Division in managing large-scale environmental programs and projects. The role involves research, planning, permitting, data analysis, IT integration, and compliance under limited supervision.

Required is a Bachelor's in a related field plus two years of environmental program experience, including one year in a lead role; Florida driver’s license is also required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, biology, ecology, natural resources management or closely related field.
• Two years in environmental/natural resource programs or closely related experience, including one year of lead work/supervisory experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E driver’s license for duration of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assist program manager overseeing the Aquatic and Wetland Resources (AWR) Program and ERP program, ensuring regulatory time frames are met.
• Coordinate between Surface Water Management and AWR when issuing ERP and SPGP permits.
• Train staff in processing Environmental Resource licenses, ERP, SPGP, and jurisdictional determinations.
