Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC. is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager in Signal Hill, CA to lead complex environmental investigation, remediation, and compliance programs across soil, groundwater, sediment, and other media.

You will guide technical teams, manage clients, and drive business development, with a track record of large-scale projects and strong regulatory knowledge. This role offers an opportunity to shape outcomes across industries and expand services for long-term client relationships.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental/Geological engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of environmental consulting experience.
• 7+ years managing complex environmental investigation/remediation projects.
• Experience managing projects $500K–$5M+ annually.
• Certifications such as PE, PG, CHG, PMP, REM, or CHMM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage large-scale environmental investigation, remediation and compliance projects from proposal through closure.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, work plans, and health and safety plans.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams of geologists, engineers, hydrogeologists, risk assessors, and environmental scientists.
• Monitor project financial performance: revenue, profitability, utilization, forecasting.
• Coordinate subcontractors, laboratories, drilling contractors, and remediation vendors.
• Maintain QA/QC standards.
• Serve as technical lead for sites impacted by contaminants in soil, groundwater, sediment, soil vapor, surface water, and other media.
• Design and oversee site investigations and environmental assessments; soil and groundwater characterization; vapor intrusion assessments; risk assessments; RI/FS; corrective action and site closure programs.
• Evaluate remediation approaches based on site conditions and regulatory requirements; interpret data and develop recommendations.
• Prepare and present technical findings to clients, regulators, and stakeholders; identify opportunities for additional services.
