Job summary

Terracon is seeking an experienced environmental professional to support our Environmental Planning Group. The role focuses on wetland science, habitat assessments, and regulatory compliance across WA/OR, with opportunities to collaborate across disciplines and mentor staff.

The position emphasizes site investigations, data analysis, report preparation, and client proposals, with safety leadership and project management as core responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or master's degree in Botany, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Soil Science, Hydrology or related field.
• At least 10 years of related experience in wetland science, biology and habitats, project management and/or environmental regulations and permitting.
• Understanding of Federal, State (WA/OR) and local environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
• Proficiency in GIS and Microsoft Office software is desirable.
• Holding species-specific permits such as 10(a) permits is desirable.
• Experience with solar and transmission line projects as well as commercial projects and data centers is desirable.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and field surveys to assess stream, wetland, vegetation and habitat characteristics and document results.
• Assess regulatory requirements and ensure compliance for relevant projects in WA/OR.
• Research and analyze data from desktop reviews using maps, aerial photos, and existing databases.
• Assist with preparation of project proposals, scope of work, and fee for clients.
• Apply risk management best practices and adhere to company risk policies.
• Lead safety efforts for the project team and ensure compliance with safety rules.
