Job summary

Terracon is seeking a senior environmental professional to conduct site investigations, assessments and surveys in air, water, soil and materials, ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will design protection plans, prepare proposals and reports, and coordinate field teams on projects such as Phase I/II assessments, tank closures, asbestos work, and storm water management. Strong leadership and communication are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related science field and at least 7 years’ experience.
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
• A valid driver’s license may be required.
• Certification in field of expertise preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning.
• Provide and lead continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
• Provide consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
• Career level, fully competent scientific professional responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting or coordinating detailed phases of work for part of a major project or total of a project of moderate scope and complexity.
• May devise new approaches to problems encountered.
• May serve as a team leader in medium projects and mentor junior level scientists/engineers.
• Implements technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities.
• Responsible for developing written proposals to clients for both small and large projects including quality control review of proposals written by others.
• Evaluates complex laboratory and field data and assembles in written reports.
