Job summary

NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic seeks a Supervisory Environmental Planner to lead environmental planning projects, NEPA compliance, and regulatory consultations. The role focuses on complex or unique environmental programs supporting Navy missions and readiness.

The position requires PE licensure, federal experience, and the ability to manage teams, budgets, and schedules across DoD environmental policies; travel to CONUS/OCONUS sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Must currently be licensed PE for 0819 Environmental Engineer series.
• Experience directing environmental planning projects and managing NEPA compliance.
• Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies (e.g., NMFS, USFWS).
• Ability to manage budgets, contracts, and schedules for environmental planning initiatives.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for federal employment; security clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, oversee, and lead environmental planning and associated decision-making.
• Supervise, oversee, and provide environmental planning consultation services, technical guidance, and general assistance on NEPA and compliance.
• Oversee, prepare, and review environmental studies assessing impacts of operations, construction, and force alignment.
• Perform analytical work to design mitigating measures to avoid or minimize environmental impacts.
• Coordinate and ensure delivery of technically sound, compliant, cost-effective products and services for complex projects.
