Job Summary
CSG Consultants, Inc. (CSG) is seeking candidates for a full-time, hybrid Senior Environmental Planner/CEQA Project Manager position within the Planning Services Group, Environmental Planning Practice. The role involves managing projects, handling CEQA compliance assignments, and collaborating with team members and subconsultants to develop CEQA documentation across California. There are opportunities for business development and proposal work, with diverse projects and communities involved.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Manager on various projects and proposals.
- Prepare environmental documentation for development, infrastructure, and policy projects.
- Manage CEQA compliance documents such as exemptions, initial studies, EIRs, and related studies, ensuring adherence to CEQA and NEPA where applicable.
- Confirm CEQA requirements are met through analysis and documentation.
- Act as the client contact for CEQA deliverables, ensuring satisfaction.
- Create and adhere to project schedules, scopes, and budgets.
- Manage workload and prioritize deadlines for team and client success.
- Incorporate sub-consultant reports and research into environmental documents.
- Contribute to proposals, administrative tasks, and project execution.
- Maintain high standards through feedback, creativity, and innovation.
- Pay close attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, geography, planning, or related field (or in progress).
- At least 4 years of professional experience in environmental analysis/reporting, preferably with a government agency or consulting firm.
- Knowledge of CEQA processes and project management.
- Understanding of the environmental consulting industry and CEQA guidelines.
- Experience managing environmental review/analysis projects and working with clients and interdisciplinary teams.
- Technical knowledge of CEQA Appendix G topics and relevant court cases.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Salary Range
$100,000 - $180,000 USD
