Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Environmental Permitting Professional to support planning, permitting, and delivery of electric transmission projects. You will secure environmental approvals and maintain regulatory compliance across routing, feasibility, construction, restoration, and closeout.

The role requires strong judgment, organizational and communication skills, and collaboration with engineering, regulatory, legal, and stakeholder teams. Travel up to 20% of time is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4–8 years in environmental consulting, regulatory, planning, or infrastructure roles.
• Experience leading environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and project delivery.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations, permit conditions, and agency correspondence.
• Strong written and verbal communication with agencies, leadership, or public stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage complex project priorities, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% and conduct site visits as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and submission of environmental permit applications across federal, state, and local levels.
• Develop permitting strategies, schedules, agency outreach plans, and risk management.
• Coordinate consultants for environmental studies, field assessments, and materials.
• Manage agency comments, permit revisions, and approval tracking.
• Facilitate coordination across engineering, land, construction, and regulatory teams.
• Engage with regulators, municipalities, and external stakeholders in negotiations.
• Review technical work for regulatory alignment and accuracy.
• Mentor junior analysts on permitting procedures and project delivery.
• Report permit status, risks, and schedule impacts to leadership.
• Promote health, safety, and environmental considerations in all activities.
