Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Environmental Permitting Professional to support planning, permitting, and delivery of electric transmission projects. You will secure environmental approvals and ensure regulatory compliance across project phases, from routing to closeout.

The role requires strong judgment, organization, and collaborative skills across engineering, environmental, regulatory, real estate, legal, and stakeholder‑engagement teams, with periodic field work and up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental planning, natural resources, geology, biology, engineering, planning, public policy, or a related field.
• 4–8 years of progressive environmental consulting, regulatory, planning, engineering, construction, or infrastructure experience.
• Experience leading environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, environmental review, and linear infrastructure project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and submission of federal, state, and local environmental permit applications.
• Develop permitting strategies, schedules, agency outreach plans, and risk management approaches.
• Coordinate consultants producing environmental studies, field assessments, and application materials.
• Manage agency comments, information requests, permit revisions, commitments, and approval tracking.
• Facilitate coordination among engineering, land, construction, environmental, legal, and stakeholder teams.
• Participate in negotiations and technical discussions with regulators and stakeholders.
• Review technical work products for regulatory alignment.
• Mentor junior analysts on permitting procedures and project delivery.
