Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. seeks an experienced environmental professional to lead regulatory compliance and permitting for utility projects. You will coordinate with agencies, draft permit applications, and manage multi‑discipline teams.

The role involves public outreach, field work, and collaboration with clients while maintaining QA/QC and health & safety standards across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Planning, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with local, state, and federal environmental regulations in the utility sector (electric transmission/generation).

Responsibilities

• Identify project-specific environmental regulatory requirements.
• Complete desktop reviews to determine environmental constraints and draft findings.
• Coordinate approvals with state, federal, and local agencies and prepare final submittals.
• Prepare environmental permit applications and gather supporting documentation.
• Write and review technical reports.
• Coordinate preparation and editing of permit applications and other technical reports.
• Support Public Outreach, including graphics, project literature, and mailings to landowners.
• Attend Public Meetings and present status of environmental studies and permitting.
• Manage tasks and project budgets; onboard sub-consultants; coordinate with clients and stakeholders.
• Oversee field work; ensure QA/QC and Health & Safety compliance.
• Communicate within Stantec Environmental Services and other lines for consistent execution.
• Assist in developing new project proposals
