Job summary

Stantec’s Environmental Services is seeking a Project Manager and Senior Environmental Permitter to lead regulatory and permitting efforts, manage projects and clients, and pursue new opportunities in the Boston area and beyond.

The role requires extensive experience with state and federal permitting, coastal resilience planning, and cross-functional team leadership. Located in MA/CT, opportunities span public meetings, proposal development, and field work.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting.
• Waterfront and in-water permitting experience for climate resiliency projects in Boston.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, MESA, MEPA, CEPA, and Clean Water Act sections 401/404/408.
• Ability to present information in public settings.
• 10+ years of project management and environmental permitting preferred.
• Experience reviewing proposals, bids, and tendering offers.

Responsibilities

• Identify project-specific environmental regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with resource agency personnel.
• Write and review technical reports.
• Develop permit applications (federal, state, local).
• Present at public meetings.
• Manage projects, budgets, and teams.
• Support business development and client relations.
• Coordinate field work as needed.
