Job summary

K&A Power Group in Orange, Connecticut seeks a Permitting Specialist to lead environmental regulatory permitting efforts for complex energy projects across the United States. You will review scopes, coordinate permits, ensure compliance and interact with regulators and project teams.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of experience obtaining environmental permits, strong regulatory writing skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced energy-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience obtaining environmental regulatory permits with state, federal and municipal agencies.
• Experience drafting, editing and interpreting environmental studies and regulatory filings.
• Ability to work in a team environment to minimize environmental, visual and customer impacts.

Responsibilities

• Review project scope and determine applicable permits (municipal, state, federal).
• Develop or coordinate the development of required environmental permits.
• Manage progress against plans, perform risk assessment and mitigate risks.
• Verify project adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Participate in program/project planning and team meetings.
• Represent the company at public or regulatory meetings.
• Review and comment on proposed laws/regulations affecting operations.
• Oversee SWPPP development and inspections and other permit-related tasks.
