Job summary

K&A Power Group in Orange, Connecticut is seeking a highly motivated Permitting Specialist to join our team. You will lead environmental permitting for energy projects, coordinating with regulators and internal teams to meet schedules and minimize impacts.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of regulatory-permit experience, strong drafting and analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset to work across disciplines in a fast-growing company with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience obtaining environmental regulatory permits.
• Experience drafting, editing and interpreting studies for regulatory filings.
• Experience working in a team environment to site facilities minimizing environmental, visual and customer impacts.

Responsibilities

• Review project scope and determine applicable permits.
• Develops or coordinates the development of the required environmental permits.
• Manages progress against plans, performs risk assessment and takes action to mitigate risk.
• Verifies project adherence to federal, state and local environmental regulatory requirements.
• Participates in project teams and regular program/project planning, execution and delivery team meetings.
• Represents the company at public or regulatory meetings.
• Reviews and comments on proposed laws and regulations as they apply to company operations.
• Manages or oversees implementation and inspection of wildlife, agriculture or wetland mitigation/management plans, and other regulatory requirements of permits which extend beyond construction phase of project.
• Develops or oversees the development of SWPPPs.
• Escalates issues when necessary.
• Conducts SWPPP inspections, oversees contracted SWPPP inspectors or environmental monitors, and conducts environmental inspections at construction projects.
