Job summary

Stantec’s Environmental Services practice seeks a Project Manager and Senior Environmental Permitter with demonstrated experience in Massachusetts, to lead environmental regulatory and project permitting efforts, provide project and client management, and support business development opportunities.

The successful candidate will identify regulatory requirements, coordinate with agencies, prepare permit applications, manage budgets and teams, and present findings at public meetings while advancing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or law degree preferred in environmental sciences or related field.
• 10+ years of project management and environmental permitting experience preferred.
• Experience with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting.
• Ability to manage multiple complex assignments and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience with coastal resilience planning and permitting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify project-specific environmental regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with resource agency personnel.
• Write and review technical reports.
• Develop environmental permit applications (federal, state, local).
• Present at public meetings.
• Facilitate permitting of multiple projects.
• Develop proposals and manage project budgets.
• Build and manage project teams.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, stakeholders, and internal staff.
• Perform and oversee project technical work.
• Maintain existing client relations and pursue new opportunities.
• Lead field work as needed.
