Job summary

Brunel, in partnership with SB Energy, seeks a Senior Manager, Environmental & Permitting to lead the environmental and permitting work for utility-scale energy generation, storage, and data center projects across the United States. You will manage complex permitting with regulators, consultants, communities, and other stakeholders.

This hybrid role requires strategic regulatory expertise and collaboration with Development, Origination, Engineering, Transmission/Interconnection, Capital Markets,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related field.
• 8–12+ years of professional experience.
• 5+ years in environmental compliance and permitting in the United States for energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee local, state, and federal permitting processes across energy projects.
• Prepare and manage environmental surveys, impact reports, and land-use applications.
• Develop permitting strategies and advise on regulatory implications.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage external consultants.
• Support project financing and manage project schedules and budgets.
• Travel up to 30% domestically.
• Build relationships with authorities, communities, and stakeholders.
