Job summary

Certerra is seeking an experienced Senior Geologist/Project Manager to lead environmental permitting initiatives in Arizona and beyond. You will drive AZPDES and Section 404 permit efforts, coordinate engineering, biology, and hydrology teams, and interface with ADEQ, USACE, and EPA.

The role requires deep Clean Water Act expertise, strong project management, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory processes for infrastructure, mining, energy, or industrial projects while minimizing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or closely related field.
  • 8-10+ years of progressive environmental permitting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Clean Water Act programs and AZPDES/USACE Section 404.
  • Proven ability to manage complex permitting projects and teams.
  • Excellent report writing and communication with agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation, submission, and management of AZPDES permits and 404 permits.
  • Develop permitting strategies, timelines, and budgets; identify risks.
  • Serve as lead technical expert and point of contact for agencies.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary internal teams and external consultants.
  • Mentor junior staff on permitting processes and compliance.
  • Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and stakeholder presentations.
