Job summary

NV5, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager – Permitting & Environmental Services to lead complex environmental projects for municipal, mining, and industrial clients across Arizona and New Mexico.

You will oversee permitting, ESAs, regulatory compliance, and remediation with senior-level technical review and client coordination. The role requires a strong background in environmental engineering or science, at least 10 years of progressive experience, and the ability to work in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting or regulatory compliance.
• Must be able to work in the field and visit clients.
• Demonstrated experience managing environmental permitting, compliance, and remediation projects.
• Strong working knowledge of federal and Arizona environmental regulations and programs.
• Proven experience with Phase I and Phase II ESAs and technical report review.
• Experience supporting mining-related environmental projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex environmental projects from initiation through completion, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as primary client contact with mining, industrial, and public-sector clientele; coordinate internal staff and regulators.
• Provide strategic planning and technical guidance for permitting, compliance, and remediation projects.
• Lead and manage environmental permitting and compliance activities under APP, NPDES/AzPDES, and related programs.
• Oversee Phase I/II ESAs, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and corrective action programs.
• Contribute to proposal development, cost estimates, and client outreach.
