Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Consultant to join its Earth & Environment Team in the Pacific Northwest. The role focuses on business development and leading environmental health and safety projects, including site investigations and remediation efforts.

The candidate will manage client relations, oversee project deliverables, and mentor junior staff while traveling to project sites as needed. A strong background in regulatory compliance and project management is required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety and Occupational Health or related science/engineering field.
• 10+ years post-education experience.
• 4+ years business development experience with government/private sector focus.
• Staff management and leadership ability.
• Project management experience incl. deliverables, schedules, budgets.
• Experience with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and occupational safety norms.
• Experience in environmental site investigations, remediation, field mgmt and sampling programs.
• Knowledge of safety monitoring equipment and office software such as MS SharePoint/Excel/Word.
• Collaborative approach to cross-office collaboration and cross-marketing.
• Ability to uphold safety policies and adapt to project-specific schedules.
• Occasional travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new clients for WSP’s environmental business through networking.
• Manage EH&S projects including site characterization, remedial design, surveys, and compliance.
• Conduct data analysis and reporting for environmental tasks and recommend solutions.
• Provide technical reviews to ensure EH&S regulatory compliance and contract adherence.
• Travel to project sites within the Pacific Northwest and occasionally nationally; minimal overnight travel.
• Develop and maintain communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams for smooth project execution.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate group assignments within SIR and EH&S.
• Directs and supervises technical assignments for staff in SIR and EH&S groups.
• Manage proposals including technical approaches, pricing, and client presentations.
• Prepare, direct and review technical reports, proposals and cost estimates.
