Job summary

ERM is seeking a Lead Biological Environmental Inspector to lead environmental monitor field teams across a broad geographic area in northern Nevada and southern Idaho. You will oversee environmental compliance related to transmission line construction, review daily field reports, and coordinate with the Environmental Field Manager to resolve issues.

The role requires extensive travel, strong communication skills, and hands-on field leadership, with 60-72 hours per week during a limited-term

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree preferred, equivalent environmental inspection or monitoring experience, or a minimum of 6 years of relevant construction experience.
• 10+ years of environmental inspection, monitoring, or permitting experience specific to linear and/or other energy infrastructure projects with preference to western US project experience.
• Electric Transmission experience required.
• BLM lands experience required.
• understood construction in fields such as pipelines, power lines, compressor/pumping stations, gas storage fields, wind/solar facilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital cameras.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, lead, and mentor ERM’s environmental monitor field teams.
• Ensure environmental compliance for specific transmission line spreads.
• Review daily reports for transmission line spreads.
• Coordinate with Environmental Field Manager and escalate issues.
• Prepare and deliver environmental training for construction personnel.
• Conduct field inspections and environmental surveys as directed.
• Verify limits of construction work areas and access roads are properly marked.
