Job summary

ERM is seeking a Lead Environmental Inspector to oversee environmental compliance during the construction phase of a transmission project in northern Nevada and southern Idaho. This is a full-time, limited-term role (18 months) with 60-72 hours per week and extension potential.

The candidate will lead field teams, conduct inspections, and provide training to construction personnel while coordinating closely with the Environmental Field Manager and agency representatives.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree preferred, or equivalent environmental inspection experience.
• 10+ years of environmental inspection experience on energy infrastructure projects.
• Must be able to travel extensively and work 40–70+ hours per week.
• Experience with electric transmission projects and BLM lands is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and GPS/map tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead field teams of environmental monitors and archaeologists.
• Ensure environmental compliance along the project spread.
• Review daily reports and coordinate with Environmental Field Manager.
• Provide environmental training to construction personnel.
• Conduct field inspections and environmental sampling.
• Maintain documentation with inspection reports and photos.
• Oversee mitigation measures and erosion control.
• Coordinate with agencies, landowners, contractors.
