Job summary

ERM is hiring Environmental Inspectors to oversee environmental compliance during construction on a transmission and distribution project in northern Nevada and southern Idaho. This full-time, limited-term role is 18 months, with possible extension, starting March 2026.

Responsibilities include field inspections, training, coordinating with regulators, documenting compliance, and leading field staff while ensuring safety and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• BS/BA preferred; equivalent environmental inspection or monitoring experience may be considered.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant construction experience.
• 2+ years environmental inspection, monitoring, or permitting on linear or energy infrastructure projects.
• Experience with transmission line projects and Western US sites preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to travel extensively and work 40–70+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver environmental training for construction personnel.
• Conduct field inspections and environmental monitoring of construction activities.
• Verify marked work areas and access road locations before clearing.
• Serve as liaison with agency officials, landowners, contractors, clients and project team members.
• Review project documents and provide direction on environmental compliance.
• Provide leadership to field staff and coordinate daily schedules.
• Assess field conditions for environmental impacts and mitigation needs.
• Document compliance with environmental permits and prepare reports.
• Travel to client locations across large geographic areas.
