Job summary

BB&E in Norfolk, VA seeks a Senior Environmental Facilities Design Specialist to support environmental site characterization, design, and RFP preparation for Navy, DoN and DoD facilities across a wide geographic region. The role emphasizes delivering plans, cost estimates, and compliance with NAVFAC criteria.

Ideal candidate brings 10+ years of environmental facilities experience, ABET-degree, and PE or Geologist credentials; duties include coordination with EVBL, mold and IAQ oversight, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years’ Environmental Facilities experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geology, Geotechnical or Environmental disciplines from ABET-accredited program.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain CAC/NACI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare environmental site characterization, mitigation documents, and cost estimates for a broad range of DoD facilities.
• Coordinate environmental criteria with NAVFAC DoD standards; support MILCON, demolition, and facilities development projects.
• Review drawings, specs, and submittals; provide post-construction support and site visits as needed.
• Assist in developing RFPs, working drawings, and project specifications for diverse facility types.
• Ensure compliance with environmental testing programs and hazardous materials management.
