Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Principal Environmental Engineer to support nationwide growth of government remediation projects. You will serve as the senior technical authority across the Environmental Remediation line, providing leadership and strategic direction for characterization and remediation of complex projects.

The role requires an established track record in federal programs, leading a team of engineers, and ensuring compliance with CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA, and related regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have 15+ years of progressively responsible environmental engineering experience.
• Experience leading DoD and CERCLA funded remediation projects.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in good standing.
• Ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical expert for environmental engineering across the remediation business line.
• Lead development of strategic approaches and oversee complex designs and remediation plans.
• Advise executive leadership on risk, regulatory impacts, and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, and Clean Air Act.
• Manage a team of environmental engineers and conduct performance evaluations.
