Job summary

APTIM Corp. is seeking a Principal Environmental Engineer to act as the senior technical authority across the Environmental Remediation group, guiding complex characterization and remediation projects.

The role involves executive-level oversight, strategic direction, and mentoring a team of engineers to deliver compliant, effective solutions for federal contract work. The position requires extensive DoD/CERCLA experience, a PE license, and the ability to travel to multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work on federal contracts.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible environmental engineering experience supporting DoD and CERCLA funded projects.
• Experience serving as Engineer of Record or senior technical reviewer.
• Possess a current Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical expert for environmental engineering across the Remediation business line.
• Lead development of strategic approaches and provide oversight of complex designs and remediation plans.
• Advise executive leadership on execution risk, regulatory impacts, and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with federal environmental laws and regulations (CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act).
• Manage a team of environmental engineers, including project assignments and performance evaluations.
