Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Principal Environmental Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for environmental engineering within our Government Remediation Business line. This role leads strategic approaches and provides oversight of complex designs, characterization, and remediation plans across multiple projects.

The successful candidate will have 15+ years of environmental engineering experience, DOE/DoD/CERCLA exposure, and a PE license. Travel to various offices nationwide is expected.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressively responsible environmental engineering experience.
• Experience as Engineer of Record or senior technical reviewer.
• Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• PE license in good standing; U.S. citizen or authorized to work on federal contracts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical expert for environmental engineering across the Remediation business line.
• Lead development of strategic approaches and approve complex designs and remediation plans.
• Advise executive leadership on execution risk, regulatory impacts, and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with federal environmental laws including CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, and Clean Air Act.
• Manage a team of environmental engineers, including assignments and performance evaluations.
