Job summary

S&ME, Inc. seeks an Environmental Engineer to join its Charlotte, NC team. You will lead diverse projects, mentor staff, and help expand the environmental practice while engaging clients and shaping growth in a 100% employee-owned firm.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, project oversight, and contribution to strategic growth within our high-performing office. We offer dynamic projects and a chance to influence the future of S&ME’s environmental services across the region.

Qualifications

8+ years of environmental engineering experience.
PE license (Professional Engineer).
Strong project management and leadership skills.
Excellent business and technical writing abilities.

Responsibilities

Lead projects through scoping, budgeting, execution, reporting, and client communication.
Provide technical oversight on soil/groundwater remediation and related fields (PFAS, vapor intrusion, etc.).
Oversee field investigations (drilling, sampling, data collection) and design recommendations.
Mentor engineers and geologists to support growth and in-house training.
Develop new business opportunities through local market knowledge and client relationships.
