Job summary

S&ME, Inc. seeks an Environmental Engineer to join its Charlotte, NC team. You will lead diverse projects, mentor staff, and help expand the environmental practice while engaging clients and shaping growth in a 100% employee-owned firm.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, project oversight, and contribution to strategic growth within our high-performing office. We offer dynamic projects and a chance to influence the future of S&ME’s environmental services across the region.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of environmental engineering experience.
• PE license (Professional Engineer).
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Excellent business and technical writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects through scoping, budgeting, execution, reporting, and client communication.
• Provide technical oversight on soil/groundwater remediation and related fields (PFAS, vapor intrusion, etc.).
• Oversee field investigations (drilling, sampling, data collection) and design recommendations.
• Mentor engineers and geologists to support growth and in-house training.
• Develop new business opportunities through local market knowledge and client relationships.
