Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer in Kansas City, MO to lead or support a broad range of environmental projects, including stormwater management, remediation, and site development for buildings and facilities. The role offers growth within our Environmental Services Engineering team and interaction with clients and in-house construction professionals.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related engineering program from an accredited university.
PE license.
7 years of environmental or civil engineering experience.
Experience overseeing construction and strong understanding of construction methods and procedures preferred.
Project management or assistant project management experience preferred.
Available for travel as necessary (approximately 10–25% travel).
Strong knowledge in standard environmental engineering techniques and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design environmental systems and facilities.
Lead or support environmental or civil projects or tasks including earthwork, stormwater, wastewater, remediation, waste management, and restoration.
Prepare reports, studies, and cost estimates for client evaluation.
Manage project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and client expectations.
Lead oversight of construction and prepare CQA reports.
Conduct internal and external presentations and mentor staff.
Develop and maintain client and regulatory relationships.
