Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to champion air, waste and/or water compliance programs and develop initiatives to reduce environmental risk. You will lead collaboration across site teams to implement best-in-class sustainability and compliance solutions.

This role requires independent work, cross-functional teamwork, and the ability to manage complex environmental issues with experts as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related sciences.
• 5 years’ experience in Environmental Engineering across multiple programs.
• Experience with air, water, or waste permitting/regulations.
• Expertise in more than one environmental discipline or a specialty.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain environmental stewardship program strategies.
• Engage with domain experts to implement new programs.
• Collaborate with plant management, regulators, and auditors.
