Job summary

LG Energy Solution Michigan, Inc. seeks a Sr. Environmental Specialist to support environmental compliance and sustainability at the Lansing site. You will anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control environmental risks and regulatory requirements within a manufacturing setting.

You will collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while supporting operations and EH&S culture across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field required.
• MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental permitting and compliance activities (air, storm water, wastewater, waste, hazardous materials).
• Support permit applications, renewals, modifications, and reporting requirements.
• Compile, analyze, and maintain environmental data for permitting, reporting, audits, and compliance tracking.
• Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, regulators to ensure timely submissions and reporting.
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate impacts to leadership and operations.
• Develop, implement, and improve environmental programs and training.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and root-cause analyses related to environmental issues.
• Provide guidance on environmental regulations and best practices.
