Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking an Environmental Credit Risk Associate within Risk Management and Compliance in the United States. The role focuses on reviewing environmental reports for real estate lending, performing collateral analysis, and coordinating environmental firm work.

You will analyze Phase I ESA reports and related investigations, support standardized environmental documentation, and contribute to risk assessment during bank transactions and audits.

Qualifications

• Concise oral and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in environmental sciences or related field, with relevant certifications possible.
• 5+ years of experience administering environmental investigations and risk management in real estate.

Responsibilities

• Review environmental records/reports related to commercial real estate secured loan transactions.
• Conduct collateral-asset analysis for real estate lending and acquisition/disposition processes.
• Obtain Phase I ESA and other investigations from approved environmental firms for CRE loans.
• Coordinate and manage proposals, scope definition, and reviews of environmental consultants.
• Perform independent research to supplement environmental information for real estate collateral.
• Assist in developing standardized documentation for environmental inspections and requests.
• Perform special projects including environmental exposures in bank acquisitions and audits.
• Assist in qualifying environmental firms to perform work for the Bank.
• Perform reviews involving complex environmental reports and remediation needs.
• Critically review scopes of work for Phase II investigations and remedial plans.
