Job summary

JPMorganChase in Plano, TX is seeking an Environmental Credit Risk Associate to review and analyze environmental reports for real estate lending transactions. You will apply quantitative and qualitative skills to assess environmental credit risk across lines of business.

The role involves coordinating Phase I ESAs, liaising with environmental consultants, performing collateral analysis, and contributing to standardized documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in environmental sciences or related fields; professional designations may apply.
• At least 5+ years of experience administering environmental investigations, risk management and loss prevention programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with internal managers, bankers, customers, and external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Review environmental records/reports related to commercial real estate secured loan transactions and prepare review memoranda.
• Conduct collateral-asset analysis on real estate lending, management, and acquisition/disposition processes.
• Obtain and review Phase I ESA's and other investigations from approved environmental firms for commercial real estate loans in default.
• Coordinate and manage requests for proposals, project scope definition, and review of environmental consultants' work products.
• Perform independent research to supplement environmental information in real estate collateral.
• Assist management with standardized documentation for environmental inspection checklists and questionnaires.
• Perform special projects including analysis of environmental exposures in bank acquisitions and audit responses.
• Assist in qualifying environmental firms to perform work for the Bank.
• Perform environmental reviews involving complex reports and property situations, including contaminated properties.
• Critically review scopes of work for Phase II subsurface investigations and remedial action plans.
