Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Associate in Environmental Credit Risk within Risk Management and Compliance. You will review environmental records, coordinate Phase I ESA processes, and integrate environmental considerations into CRE loan decisions.

The role requires strong communication, extensive experience in environmental investigations, and collaboration with internal teams and external consultants. Sepcial projects on environmental exposures may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Concise oral and written communication; interacts with managers, bankers, customers and vendors.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in environmental sciences or related fields.
• At least 5+ years of experience in environmental investigations, risk management and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Review environmental records/reports related to commercial real estate secured loan transactions; prepare review memoranda.
• Procure environmental reports from qualified consultants as required.
• Conduct collateral-asset analyses on real estate lending and acquisition/disposition; liaise between Bank personnel and environmental reports.
• Obtain and review Phase I ESA's and other investigations from approved environmental firms for CRE loans in default.
• Coordinate and monitor requests for proposals and work-product reviews of environmental consultants.
• Perform independent research to supplement environmental information for real estate collateral.
• Assist in developing standardized documentation for environmental inspection checklists and requests for service.
• Perform special projects including analysis of environmental exposures in acquisitions and audit responses.
