Job summary

Onterris is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to deliver environmental services for emergency responses and non-ER projects. You will assume key field and command post roles, provide technical guidance, and coordinate with client, regulators, and internal teams to ensure high-quality data and reporting.

Onterris ER leadership will rely on you for readiness, training, and growth of the environmental services team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, geology, or other related science.
• Master's degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, geology, or other related science (preferred).
• Advanced computer skills in a Windows-based platform.
• Project management experience, preferably in emergency response.
• Recognized environmental certification, such as REM, CEP, or CHMM.

Responsibilities

• Performs as an environmental consultant on environmental response and projects with some oversight and may also act as a Project Manager and/or Project Technical Director, when deemed appropriate.
• Assumes key environmental roles during responses and projects, coordinating closely with client and agency personnel.
• Prepares written work plans and other environmental unit/project deliverables; and ensures they are followed in the field.
• Works with the client to right-size the project by identifying resources needed.
• Coordinates with project managers, data managers, and quality managers to ensure data deliverables are timely and of high quality.
• Maintains response readiness and deploys to emergency response and other projects as deemed needed by Onterris ER Leadership.
• Supports internal preparedness, including the development and delivery of response training, identification of equipment needs, environmental equipment maintenance, and development of documents and templates.
