Job summary

Amerisure Insurance Company is seeking a Senior Environmental & Construction Defect Claims Specialist to manage high-complexity claims remotely across multiple jurisdictions. The role emphasizes expert investigations, strategic planning, and proactive loss management to achieve superior claims outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings extensive environmental/tort claims experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead discussions with agents, policyholders, and defense counsel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Juris Doctorate preferred.
• 10 years of commercial claims experience, including 7 years with moderate to high complexity environmental and toxic tort claims.
• Experience handling litigated files and directing outside defense and coverage counsel.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage an assigned portfolio of environmental, toxic tort, and construction defect claims.
• Build strong relationships with agents and policyholders through effective communication and thorough documentation.
• Investigate and evaluate coverage, liability, and damages across jurisdictions using applicable law.
• Develop action plans to influence outcomes and pursue early resolutions when appropriate.
• Monitor loss reserves and participate in mediations, settlements, and trials.
