Job summary

Medtronic North Haven is seeking a Principal Environmental Specialist to lead environmental programs and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will develop, administer, and implement environmental programs for the site, reporting to the Senior EHS Manager, and working with cross-functional teams to minimize environmental impact.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years related experience or an Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree with corresponding years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years experience.
• Experience in environmental regulatory programs and compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage compliance to environmental regulatory programs including wastewater, stormwater, air emissions, oil spill prevention (SPCC), spill prevention and control (SPCP), solvent management (SMP), underground storage tanks, EPCRA reporting, and ozone depleting substances (greenhouse gas and refrigerant management).
• Provide/promote employee awareness on environmental regulatory and company requirements including preparing and presenting training materials, EHS Tips and Alerts.
• Prepare regulatory reports (e.g., annual air emissions summary, EPCRA reporting, DMRs, SMRs) and oversee inspections and sampling.
• Evaluate new construction projects and processes for regulatory impact and communicate requirements.
• Co-lead the Environmental Action Group implementation.
• Review regulations and communicate impact to site leadership; ensure compliance and set strategy.
• Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective/preventative actions.
• Monitor pollution prevention activities and report on chemical usage with GWP.

Education

High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND 10+ years experience

Associate’s Degree AND 8+ years experience
