Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred) or Environmental Science (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years related work experience; 8–10 years in chemical industry preferred.
• Professional certification is preferred.
• Valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Monitors air, water and solid waste discharge to ensure compliance with permits and regulations.
• Prepares and updates permit applications and periodic reports to agencies.
• Analyzes environmental data and presents findings to upper management.
• Provides training and guidance to other environmental specialists or operating personnel.
• Assesses regulatory changes and updates programs accordingly.
• Leads projects and contributes to SMP requirements and site management plans.
