Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist / Environmental Scientist to join the Northeast Region, including New York City, NY offices. You will perform field assignments, audits, site assessments and inspections to support the Earth & Environment Team and help meet client objectives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of regulatory experience, ISO 14001 EMS knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 50% for site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Environmental Policy, Engineering, Earth Science or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• 5+ years of experience working knowledge of ISO 14001 EMS guidance.
• Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and wear a respirator.
• Experience with evaluating/maintaining environmental regulatory compliance in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field assignments, such as environmental compliance audits, Phase 1 environmental site assessments and environmental inspections.
• Provide environmental compliance program support for industrial clients including developing procedures and permits, submitting periodic regulatory reports, and delivering training programs.
• Develop EMS program support for industrial clients including program development and auditing.
• Prepare written and verbal technical reports, including audits, field investigations, regulatory research, data interpretation, and presentation of data.
