Job summary

cps4jobs is seeking an Environmental Engineer for a large manufacturing facility in Virginia. The role collaborates with site leadership to ensure compliance with numerous environmental regulations and drives sustainability initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in environmental compliance within chemicals or industrial manufacturing, with strong technical experience in waste, water, and air, and excellent communication across levels of the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of environmental compliance experience in chemical manufacturing or related process industry.
• Experience with environmental regulations including RCRA, CAA, CWA, EPCRA, TRI, SPCC, wastewater, and stormwater programs.
• Experience preparing regulatory reports and managing environmental compliance programs.
• Knowledge of industrial chemical processes and associated environmental risks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and leadership to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including but not limited to CAA, RCRA, CWA, EPCRA, and TRI.
• Manage environmental permitting requirements and reporting obligations.
• Prepare, review, and submit environmental compliance reports accurately and on schedule.
• Support manufacturing and engineering teams through MOS processes for new equipment and process changes.
• Lead investigations related to environmental incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain and improve the site's ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
