Job summary

AdvanSix Inc. in Hopewell, VA, seeks an Environmental Site Leader to guide the site’s environmental program, ensuring compliance with air, water, waste, emergency planning, and related management system obligations while supporting safe, reliable manufacturing.

You will lead environmental strategy and regulator engagement, develop the team, oversee capital projects, and drive continuous improvement across the site, interfacing with site leadership, auditors, and regulatory agencies to manage

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related technical field.
• Minimum of 15 years of environmental compliance, permitting, or environmental program management experience at an industrial facility.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting industrial or chemical manufacturing operations.
• Experience leading environmental professionals, teams, consultants, or contractors.
• Experience interacting with regulatory agencies on permitting, inspections, or enforcement matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead site environmental compliance and permitting programs across air, water, waste, and SPCC/FRP requirements.
• Provide leadership for major source air compliance, permitting, emissions reporting, and related systems.
• Oversee water compliance programs, including VPDES, pretreatment, stormwater, and discharge monitoring.
• Lead regulatory agency engagement, inspections, negotiations, and communication of emerging requirements.
• Develop and lead the environmental team and manage the department budget and project resources.
• Serve on site leadership team advising on environmental risks and strategic decisions.
