Xcel Energy is seeking an environmental compliance professional to oversee complex programs ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local environmental laws. The role includes leading investigations, coordinating with agencies, and guiding regulatory strategy for multiple facilities across the utility portfolio.

Ideal candidates will have a BS/BA in environmental sciences and at least six years of related experience, with strong writing, communication, and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in environmental science, engineering, applied science, or related fields.
• Six years of progressively more responsible environmental work experience inc. regulations and audits.
• Note: Associate degree with substitutions allowed (MS/MA/MBA = 2 yrs; PhD/JD = 3 yrs).

Responsabilités

• Administers and consults on complex programs to minimize deficiencies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Directs site assessment, investigations, and remediation projects for regulatory compliance across multiple areas.
• Performs as regulatory liaison with federal, state, and local agencies and presents testimony when required.
• Prepares proposals, contract agreements, and project estimates; supports consultants and contractors.
• Develops training content to meet Xcel Academy standards and provides regulatory training to personnel.
