Job summary

Vensure is seeking a Sr. Paymaster, Sports & Entertainment to oversee end-to-end payroll for multiple entertainment projects including film, TV, live events, and digital media.

You’ll ensure timely, accurate payroll processing while maintaining compliance with union contracts and tax laws. You will work with production clients, leverage industry experience to improve staff development, and stay current on guild rules and payroll technology.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience processing payroll in the entertainment industry.
• Strong knowledge of entertainment payroll practices, union agreements, and labor laws.
• In-depth knowledge of guild and union rules (SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA, IATSE).
• Proficiency with entertainment payroll software and accounting systems.
• Strong understanding of tax laws, wage and hour laws, and payroll best practices.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to company payroll policies and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations related to entertainment labor laws and guild agreements.
• Manage payroll for multiple jurisdictions and locations.
• Oversee payroll for cast, crew, and production employees, including union and non-union workers.
• Ensure correct tax withholdings, deductions and benefits.
• Provide detailed payroll reports.
• Oversee union compliance reporting and respond to audits and inquiries.
• Maintain knowledge of changes in labor laws and union contracts.
• Identify process improvements and leverage technology to boost efficiency.
• Implement payroll systems and software updates; coordinate with IT as needed.
• Serve as the payroll SME for entertainment processes and procedures.
