Job summary

Acuity Inc. is seeking a Software Architect for the Product Data Management (PDM) system.

You will define and maintain the technical architecture, standards, and roadmaps for one of Acuity's critical enterprise platforms, collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, Security, Data, and business stakeholders to ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. The role combines hands-on architecture and coding, modernization planning, and governance, with emphasis on delivering

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline.
8+ years of software engineering experience with significant architecture responsibility.
Strong experience with enterprise application design.
Experience defining architecture for large-scale business-critical applications.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, integration patterns, event-driven architectures, and microservices concepts.
Experience with Azure, CI/CD, DevOps, security, monitoring, and operational excellence.
Experience working within Agile and SAFe delivery models.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Enterprise System Design: Architect end-to-end distributed systems with scalability and loose coupling.
Cloud Architecture: Design multi-tier cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with IaC and cost control.
API & Integration Strategy: Define standards for API design and service integration.
Multi-Language Fluency: Apply expertise in Python, C#/.NET, and Java to guide decisions.
Software Craftsmanship & Design Patterns: Promote clean architecture and DDD.
Data Architecture & Modeling: Lead relational and NoSQL data strategies.
Event-Driven Architectures: Build asynchronous platforms with messaging.
DevOps & Continuous Delivery: Integrate CI/CD, observability, testing, security.
Internal Developer Platforms (IDP): Standardize self-serve deployment patterns.
AI Fluency & Emerging Technologies: Explore AI/ML pipelines and LLM integrations.
Cross-Functional Influence & Alignment: Translate business goals into technical roadmaps.
Engineering Mentorship & Talent Growth: Coach staff engineers and teams.
Stakeholder Translation & Executive Communication: Present architecture decisions clearly to executives.
