Job summary

Early Warning seeks a Distinguished Engineer to own enterprise-scale initiatives, from coding to architecture and security, reporting to the VP of Zelle Engineering. The role requires leading cloud migrations, setting best practices, and guiding cross-functional teams across critical projects.

The position emphasizes collaboration with Security, Architecture, and external partners, with high accountability for delivery, roadmaps, and influencing leadership across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or equivalent professional experience.
• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including 10+ years leading technology initiatives or processes.
• 5+ years of experience with large-scale cloud systems and modern practices (containerization, CI/CD, automated testing, security).
• Technical leadership through large-scale system designs, upgrades, and releases.
• Strong leadership, business acumen, and mentoring ability.
• Experience with state-of-the-art technology, architecture, open-source OS, databases, networking, and security.
• Understanding of executing highly scalable, distributed applications in cloud environments.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups and deliver results.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
• Background and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Leads the Zelle journey to the cloud.
• Drives architectures and technology decisions inside Zelle using enterprise-scale experiences.
• Collaborates with Engineering, Architecture, Security, and external partners.
• Coaches and hires top talent to support large-scale efforts.
• Identifies opportunities to deliver value to Production incrementally.
• Builds scalable solutions through stakeholder collaboration.
• Ensures software development follows quality guidelines and best practices.
• Keeps management informed of progress and issues.
