Job summary

IDEXX is seeking an Associate Director, Enterprise Architecture to shape and govern IDEXX’s enterprise technology ecosystem, aligning target-state architecture across ERP, CRM, LIMS, cloud data platforms, and integration layers.

You will lead with autonomy, coordinating a Center of Excellence of domain and solution architects, setting priorities and driving outcomes while keeping senior leadership informed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in IT/software engineering, solutions design, and enterprise architecture.
• Experience establishing architecture roadmaps across multi‑cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).
• Hands‑on experience implementing EA tools (Ardoq, LeanIX, Avolution, Mega, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the enterprise architecture inventory in Ardoq, with applications, owners, costs, risks, and lifecycle status.
• Develop business capability maps connecting technology landscape to business value.
• Define future-state architecture and the associated principles, standards, and exception processes.
• Embed EA into the Software Realization Framework and chair a lightweight Architecture Review Board.
• Partner with the EA Center of Excellence to align standards across Reference Labs, Commercial, VetSoft, Diagnostics, and VetConnect+.
• Lead ongoing portfolio rationalization to retire redundant systems and optimize costs.
• Mentor and develop architects across the Center of Excellence.
• Communicate architecture direction and progress to delivery teams and senior leadership.
• Track measurable EA outcomes and tie activity to business results.
