Job summary

DMA - DuCharme, McMillen & Associates, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer, Enterprise Architecture to establish the future-state technology architecture and align major initiatives with the company’s strategy.

You will lead a small architecture team, influence decisions, and contribute to high-impact solution design. You will partner with business and IT leaders to translate needs into practical strategy, set governance, and guide build-versus-buy decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
10+ years of progressive experience in solution/enterprise architecture or related disciplines.
Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives across multiple systems, data sources, integrations, vendors, and business functions.
Ability to establish target-state architectures, governance, roadmaps, and multi-year plans.
Experience translating ambiguous business needs into structured options and decision-ready materials.
Experience evaluating build-versus-buy options and third-party platforms.

Responsibilities

Define current-state and future-state architectures with enterprise standards and reusable patterns.
Partner with business leaders to translate objectives into technology strategies and approaches.
Shape requirements early, evaluate alternatives, and identify dependencies before significant investment.
Ensure initiatives align with business strategy, security, data strategy, and long-term roadmap.
Lead solution architecture for major requests, developing options, architectures, risks, and recommendations.
Facilitate design discussions across stakeholders and vendors to drive informed decisions.
Establish architecture governance and reviews, standards, and risk management.
Lead build-versus-buy evaluations and assess third-party solutions for fit and security.
Provide architecture leadership for AI-enabled solutions including generative AI and RAG.
Support governance for AI solutions with security, data, and compliance teams.
Mentor and develop a team of 2–3 professionals while remaining hands-on on critical work.
