Job summary

Guardian Life in Holmdel, NJ is seeking a Principal Solution Architect for the Enterprise API Platform to define, scale, and govern enterprise-wide architecture across platforms and teams. You will translate API modernization objectives into practical, value-generating modernization decisions, reusable architecture patterns, MCP-enabled platform direction, and executable engineering outcomes.

Qualifications

Deep experience designing and governing enterprise-scale solution architectures across multiple teams/domains.
Experience modernizing API ecosystems, including API management platforms and lifecycle platforms.
Strong ability to define and drive adoption of architecture standards, frameworks, and reusable patterns.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with business and technology stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Own and shape enterprise architecture strategy, standards, and patterns across platforms/domains.
Define reusable design patterns and reference architectures for solution delivery.
Establish guardrails for scalable, secure, and consistent design across teams.
Mentor architects and senior engineers to elevate architectural maturity.
Translate business strategy into actionable architecture direction for API platforms and transformations.
Partner with Security, Risk, and Compliance to embed governance and regulatory requirements.
Lead cross-team design decisions for high-impact initiatives spanning value streams or units.
Drive API modernization, MCP gateway patterns, and domain-aligned data models across platforms.
