Job summary

Murphy USA is seeking a data analytics professional to independently perform complex analyses using statistical methods, data mining, and predictive modeling. You will synthesize insights, develop actionable recommendations, and work with business partners to define analytical requirements.

The role requires HR and finance/domain expertise, advanced Excel and MS Office skills, and experience with PowerBI/Tableau, SQL, Python, and data visualization.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of HR, accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.
• Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 1–4 years related experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Leads multiple analytics initiatives/projects.
• Frames unstructured problems with management support.
• Defines analytics requirements and gains alignment with business partners.
• Performs complex analysis and articulates assumptions clearly.
• Develops actionable recommendations via dashboards, models, and forecasts.
• Creates presentations for executive management.
• Maintains and updates business models to meet organizational needs.
• Leads junior analysts to drive team development.
• Performs routine and ad hoc reporting using statistics and data mining.
• Conducts root cause analysis to derive KPIs.
• Performs data extraction and scrubbing, and supports hypothesis-driven approaches.
• Provides audit trail on factual assertions.
